HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE!

We hope everybody has a safe and happy New Year’s Eve. No coach is schedule for tonight, so please use the comments on WordPress and Facebook to discuss amongst yourself if you want to get a group together for an informal session.

Mark your calendars, Saturday’s 1000 Throwdown will be a farewell WOD for Katherine.

What to expect in the weeks to come…. We all know what January brings and it’s a great opportunity to expand our community. The Foundational Movements will continue to be programmed into classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you are new to Crossfit, please plan to attend three days a week for at least a month to get those basic movements proficiently.  Tuesdays will have a WOD that will be repeated 6 weeks out so you can test yourself and Thursday will be the more advanced Oly lift of some sort.  One coach only has two eyes to see everybody’s movements.  If you see a continued “fault” in somebody’s movement, step up and say something, at least to the coach.  It’s not about how fast or how heavy, it’s about proficient movements.  We work daily to key that in so on the few performance days our body can do fast & heavy with a lower risk of injury.  (THE OPEN IS COMING!)

I am excited to hear many of our athletes are attending the L1 certification at the end of January. If you didn’t know a certification was upcoming, please check out the CrossFit website if you’re interested.  Our coaches are all volunteers and we are always looking to add more people.  If you have your L1 or are planning to obtain it and are interested, please let us know.
